WoRTH (Padley Group)

Padley Group is one of twenty nine charities from across England, working with women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, that has been awarded a grant from Homeless Link’s Ending Women’s Homelessness grants programme, funded by the Government’s Tampon Tax Fund.

Padley Group’s WoRTH project will work with all of the Homelessness Sector in Derby to train staff to be able to deliver gender specific trauma informed services to reduce rough sleeping in women. Developing a Women’s Champion working with Women’s Work to develop the service and train 40 staff, the project is to work with Mid Mercia CAB to fast track women in crisis, to reduce the failure in tenancies and reduce homelessness in Derby.

Di Litchfield, Business Manager of Padley Group, said: "Padley group is delighted to be awarded this grant to enable us to continue to develop services that make a real difference to those experiencing homelessness in Derby. This grant comes at a time when we have seen a sharp rise in Women accessing our services and sleeping rough in our City.

"The Worth Project will enable us to offer a much needed space for women to access services that will enable us to pro- actively help them to reduce the risk to them, from homelessness now and in the future. Not only here at Padley but across all services for women experiencing homelessness in the City of Derby. Developing , for the first time, a Women’s Champion, to deliver and develop gender specific trauma informed services, across , not only Homeless services but the advice sector too. Women’s Work and Mid Mercia CAB will support this development and this partnership will ensure that we have co-ordinated advice and support services for Women."
