There is an agency referral form or for self referrals a form can be completed at an assessment point, where staff will be available to assist you. All referrals need to come through the MAS gateway. To be assessed for the MAS system client needs to speak with Manchester city council rough sleepers team, charities such as booth centre, barnabus, shelter, centre point and other temporary accommodations e.g. night shelters.
Phone or call in Mon-Fri 9am-5pm for referral form. Referrals to be e-mailed where possible. Self referral forms will be completed over the phone with applicants where appropriate. Needs and Risk Assessments completed at interview. Require background information from referring agency.

An initial enquiry for service is made to Birchwood, the young person is then invited in to interview/assessment at the Centre or one of our offsite offices. At this point the young person’s support needs/risk will be assessed. A decision can be made to either accommodate the young person, place them on our waiting list or sign post to other services.
