Access to supported accommodation is through the Southend Access Gateway referral panel (0845 6027895) - multi-agency panel reviews the needs and aspirations of all potential applicants and matches potential residents to supported housing. The Access Gateway Referral Panel uses the following criteria to determine whether an applicant is eligible to be considered for housing: Local Connection (i.e. Lived 3 years in the past 5, or parents, siblings, adult children resident in Southend 5yrs).
Applicants are either found rough sleeping via Outreach Services or can contact Bedford housing options to arrange an assessment of their housing needs 01234 718058 or speak to the Nighshelter 01234 266085 who can signpost to our Outreach worker. Clients can come to the door if they need food, blankets and referrals can be made for them.
