Webinar I 3pm | FREE

As the Omicron variant becomes more prevalent the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) have announced a new Protect and Vaccinate scheme which will help to  provide accommodation and increase vaccine uptake among people who are homeless and sleeping rough.

This new fund which will be handled through local authorities can be used to support those who are hesitant about getting their vital booster jabs and funding emergency accommodation to get people off the streets.

The scheme will deliver mobile vaccinations where people are sleeping on the streets, supporting outreach work in shelters to educate people about the dangers of the virus, and giving money to councils to provide safe and secure accommodation while their level of vaccination is increased.

Find out details of how this might impact your work, and also the latest thinking on tackling vaccine hesitancy at our webinar.

We will be joined by:

  • Stephanie Larnder - Head of Rough Sleeping Strategy and Policy (DLUHC)
  • Tom Preest - Head of Rough Sleeping Adviser Team (DLUHC)
  • Dr Huda Yusuf - Consultant in Public Health and Primary Care, Child Healthy Weight, Homelessness and Health Inclusion and Dental Public Health (CYP), NHS England & Improvement
