Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Young single homeless people or those at risk of homelessness, including people with or drug problems, ex-offenders and care leavers. Applicants must have a local connection to Cambridgeshire.

Who we cannot help

Arsonists, sex offenders, Class A drug users (take people on a script who will take weekly drug tests), people with convictions of knife crime, cautions for carrying a weapon, people with severe mental health issues.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept referrals from Cambridge City Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council, East Cambridgeshire District Council, Cambridgeshire 16+ Service, Centre 33, Probation Service and other YMCAs.

Referral procedure

Referral only - must be on an active income, RAP sheet if required. Must provide at least 2 contactable referees.

Support and accommodation

Support offered

8 full time, 6 part time staff, 4 relief workers, 24 hour waking cover and emergency on-call system. Keywork system (up to 15 residents per key worker), weekly meetings. Support plans with agreed outcomes, reviewed every 1-3 months. Staff provide emotional and practical advice and support, and help to identify educational, employment, medical, social and leisure needs. Monthly visits by outreach education & training advisor.

£5.16 - £11.38 required from residents receiving benefits.

Rules and policies

House rules and tenure

Alcohol only allowed in flats. Smoking in own room only. Residents must sign up to a meaningful activity eg education, training, employment, volunteering. Licence agreement.


3 visitors per resident until midnight. 1 overnight guest permitted 3 times a each week.
