Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Single vulnerable homeless people Local connection to Staffordshire.

Who we cannot help

Convicted sex offenders. Those with a history of violence or arson. Those with a Class A drug dependency who are not addressing their problem through rehab. People with housing arrears may be accepted if a payment plan is agreed.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept self referrals and referrals from any agency.

Referral procedure

All referrals come through the YMCA's Reconnect site. Phone for an appointment Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. Referral interview and risk assessment.

Length of stay

  • Maximum stay: 2 years

Support and accommodation

Support offered

Three projects with total of 10 full time staff, available Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. 6 Night support workers, emergency on-call system. Staff offer help with budgeting, domestic skills, accessing employment and training and making contact with other agencies. Staff provide the life skills programme.

Rooms and charges

Residents responsible for paying own utility bills.

Visitors

Up to 3 visitors with staff permission. 1 guest over 18 up to 3 nights per week. All through a booking in process.

Burton Railway Station. Our accommodation is all town centre based.

Volunteering

We have/require volunteers for the following: Administration, fundraising, retail work, van help, foodbank, counselling, skill sharing, trustees and YMCA ambassadors - 80 volunteers. 01283 538 802 - volunteering enquiry.
