Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

18+ single adults with support needs that include mental health difficulties, substance misuse, learning disabilities. Will consider housing couples but with separate Licence agreements. No joint tenancies. We house dogs but have a maximum of two at any one time. Local connection required but assessed at point of referral at the council.

Who we cannot help

Schedule one sex offenders due to proximity of local school.

Support and accommodation

Support offered

17 support staff 2 night porters 2 x receptionists 6 x cleaners Minimum on shift at one time = 2 support workers plus one receptionist/night porter, and 1 x on-call for advice. Support staff available 8am – 9.30pm, plus night porter and sleep-in support staff member for emergencies only.

  • Furnishings: Low support = we only provide white goods. Medium support = furnished (bed, bedding, wardrobe)

  • Disabled facilities: Medium support = each of the 5 houses have one ground floor room (5 in total, 4 male, 1 female). Low support = 13 ground floor flats.
  • Other facilities: Aside from above mentioned facilities, communal garden. IT suite (7 computers), Art/music room, Lifeskills centre (large communal kitchen for courses).

House rules and tenure

Medium = Licence agreement Low = Assure shorthold tenancy Alcohol and smoking permitted in rooms, not communal areas. No compulsory activities, but support agreement stipulates meeting keyworker regularly.


Medium support = overnight guests permitted 3 nights per week, agreed 24 hours in advance. Only 18+ visitors. Guests not staying must sign out at 9.30pm Low support = Overnight guests permitted as wanted (max 3 nights if same guest). Under 18 guests permitted, after social services check complete

3 volunteer cooks for breakfast club. Runs each Friday. 2 x resident reps from each level of support. Brighton Housing Trust (BHT) as a recovery mentor, & another as a recovery mentor & receptionist. Occupational Therapy & medical student’s placements. Anna.amado@brightonymca.co.uk


We accept deliveries of surplus food from local business where possible. Members of the punlic have been known to donate clothes. At Xmas we approach local businesses to donate presents. 01273 420 808
