Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Young lesbians, gay men, bi-sexual and transgender people aged 16-25 in housing need, with medium support needs. Priority to applicants with a local connection to LBs Hackney, Haringey, Islington or Newham. There is a specialist Domestic Abuse IDVA service for LGBT survivors called Roar.

Who we cannot help

People with a history of arson and/or violence. Those unable to cope without 24 hour staff support.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Most referrals via Pan London although extra points are awarded to those from Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Newham.Referrals to Roar can be made in person or via an agency.

Referral procedure

Phone office Mon-Fri 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm or the advice line - 020 7359 5767. Brief assessment of suitability by phone. Application form completed by applicant and/or referral agency. Assessment interview.

Length of stay

  • Minimum stay: 1 year
  • Maximum stay: 2 years

Support and accommodation

Support offered

4 staff, available on site at 4 houses, staff visit other houses regularly. Keyworking and support planning, reviews quarterly. Support on budgeting, accessing other agencies, health, safety, mediation, tenancy sustainment, search for accommodation and preparation for move-on. Make referrals to external agencies as appropriate.

£10pw required from residents in receipt of benefits.

  • Furnishings: Rooms fully furnished, some with washbasins.

  • Disabled facilities: Can accommodate 2 residents using wheelchairs. 2 flats have a loop system and visual door bells for those who are hearing impaired.

Must take part in support planning process. Smoking allowed in own room. Assured shorthold tenancy.

Visitors

Overnight guests allowed up to 3 nights a week.
