Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Single homeless women. Applicants must have a local connection to Bristol unless fleeing domestic violence or seeking asylum. Can accept 2 women with dogs.

Who we cannot help

Schedule 1 offenders. Women with a very recent history of violence and a current history of arson will be subject to a risk assessment.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept referrals and self referrals from any agency via Bristol City Council's Housing Advice Team.

Referral procedure

Call in Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 10am-3.30pm, Weds 12 noon - 3.30pm or phone Mon-Fri 9am-5pm.

Length of stay

  • Minimum stay: 1 night
  • Maximum stay: 4 months

Support and accommodation

Support offered

11 staff, 24 hour waking cover. Support workers and other staff provide support with finding move-on accommodation and referrals to specialist agencies where necessary. Residents and staff work within a move-on policy, requiring regular meetings to discuss progress made with finding move-on accommodation.

£14.62pw required from residents in receipt of benefits.

  • Disabled facilities: 4 bedrooms on ground floor are accessible to clients with minor mobility problems. The scheme is accessed via steps from road level.

Rules and policies

House rules and tenure

No alcohol in communal areas. Smoking allowed in own rooms and garden only. Licence agreement.

Visitors

Women and children (residents' sons up to age 12), between 9am and 10pm. No overnight guests.
