Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Single homeless people with medium-high support needs, including rough sleepers, those with substance use/mental health/complex needs and some ex-offender groups. At least 25 % of the client group must be women. Can accept people with dogs. All clients are expected to engage and work with local drug and alcohol services. 100% of referred clients must have a Hackney connect. All referrals go through LB of Hackney Housing Options Team

Applications considered on a case by case basis.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept referrals approved by LB of Hackney only. All referral agents must go through the local Housing Option Team first.

Referral procedure

Phone 24 hours to enquire about referral process and vacancies. Form completed by agency and applicant. Interview and sent back to local Housing Options Team advisor for service. Require background information, relevant reports as appropriate eg psychiatric and probation reports, and proof of ID. Interview. All admissions initially to the assessment unit.

Length of stay

  • Minimum stay: 8 weeks
  • Maximum stay: 2 years

Support and accommodation

Support offered

16 full time staff and several volunteers, 24 hour waking cover. Compulsory monthly keyworker meetings offering support on independent living skills, harm minimisation, employment and training, physical/mental health. Action plans with agreed outcomes, reviewed quarterly. Can refer to specialist support services. On-site activities, resettlement and Pathways to Employment workers.

£13.35-£19.21pw required from residents receiving benefits.

House rules and tenure

Alcohol and smoking not allowed in communal areas. Must attend keywork meetings. Licence agreement.

Visitors

Between 9.30am-10.30pm. Overnight guests with 24 hours notice.
