Who is the project for?
Who do we help?
Single homeless people with mental health problems who are willing to work towards independence. Priority to those with a local connection to LB Islington.
Who we cannot help
No automatic exclusions. Applications considered on a case by case basis.

How to get a referral
Only accept referrals from statutory mental health services and voluntary agencies in LB Islington via LB Islington Referrals Co-ordinator Team.
Phone Mon-Fri 9am-5pm for an application form, to be completed by prospective resident. Applicants make an informal visit, followed by an interview. Require mental health and risk assessments.
Length of stay
- Minimum stay: 6 months
- Maximum stay: 2 years
Support and accommodation
8 project staff, sleep-in cover at hostel. Staff visit residents regularly in shared houses. Each resident is allocated a key worker with whom they meet regularly to agree action plans, review progress and discuss any issues of concern. Higher level of support offered to residents in the hostel than in the shared houses. Life skills training course. Access to St Mungo's work and learning projects.
Rooms and charges
£6.68-£11.38pw required from residents receiving benefits. Higher charge in hostel.

Rules and policies
House rules and tenure
May drink alcohol in own room/flat. Can smoke in own room and garden. Licence agreement in hostel, assured shorthold tenancy in shared houses and studio flats.
Should leave by 9.30pm unless prior agreement for later stays. No restriction in shared houses.
