Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Young single people aged 16-24 with support needs who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness. No local connection required. (one centre has all female service - 10 beds)

Who we cannot help

Schedule 1 sex offenders. Arsonists may be accepted if cleared by insurance company.

Referral procedure

Phone St Basils Link Mon-Fri 9am-5pm or Youthline (0300 303 0099) which is a partnership between St Basils and 4 other organisations. Out of hours emergency phones: 16 & 17 year olds - 0121 675 4806, 18+ year olds - 0121 303 2296. Interview, and needs and risk assessment at The Link. Placed on pre-registered list if suitable. When vacancy arises The Link carry out up to date background checks.

Length of stay

  • Minimum stay: 6 months
  • Maximum stay: 12 months

Support and accommodation

Support offered

5 full time staff, sleep-in cover. Keywork system (8 residents per worker), monthly meetings. Action plans with agreed outcomes, reviewed monthly (more frequently if required). Staff provide advice and support around life skills, budgeting, accessing benefits, cooking, hygiene, sexual health and addressing substance misuse issues. Surgeries around prevention services, employment, education and training. There is a higher level of support for 6 residents in single rooms.

Written house rules. Alcohol allowed in own rooms only. Licence agreement.

Visitors allowed 5pm-10pm. Overnight guests with staff permission
