Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Single homeless men aged 25+ with alcohol or drug problems, including rough sleepers and those with low-medium mental health support needs. No local connection required. Must be prepared to address their addiction in an abstinence-based rehabilitation setting. Must be eligible to Housing Benefit.

Who we cannot help

Arsonists. Those who do not want to stop drinking or misusing drugs.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept self referrals and referrals from any agency. Can accept referrals direct from prison.

Referral procedure

Phone daily 9am-10pm or write, email or download form. Agencies must fill out a referral form. Self referrals can ask for help with filling out the application form and interview will be arranged at a later date. If no current vacancies, will be placed on a waiting list. Maximum number on the waiting list is six. Must be entitled to benefits.

Support and accommodation

Support offered

8 support staff, 3 counselors, 24 hour sleep-in cover. Project offers a rehabilitation programme in an alcohol and drug free environment. Keywork system (4 residents per worker) with weekly keywork and counseling meetings. Needs and risk assessments. Action plans reviewed three monthly. Residents expected to attend training and development centre to help with rehabilitation process, including counselling, life and social skills training, gardening project, DIY, literacy, numeracy and computer skills.

Rules and policies

House rules and tenure

Must attend residents' meetings and take part in rehabilitation programme. No alcohol or drug use at or away from the project. Smoking in designated area only. Excluded licence agreement. Regular drug and alcohol test.

Visitors

By arrangement outside programme hours and in communal areas only. No overnight guests.
