Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Young single homeless people aged 16-25. Applicants must have a local connection to East Sussex.

Who we cannot help

Will not usually be able to offer places to arsonists, Schedule 1 offenders or people with a recent history of violence.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept referrals from children's and adult social service departments, YOT, prison, probation, housing advice and other services within East Sussex.

Referral procedure

Agency referrals. Contact 24/7 for referral pack. Applicants will be contacted within 24 hours of receipt of application and interviewed within a week.

  • Maximum stay: 18 months

Support and accommodation

Support offered

7 full time staff, 2 part time staff, 24 hour waking cover. Compulsory keywork system (12 residents per keyworker) with weekly meetings. Action plans with agreed outcomes, reviewed weekly. Salvation Army Housing Association staff offer advice and help with living skills, and provide support around employment and training. The Foyer has strong links with Sussex Downs College.

House rules and tenure

Compulsory keywork system. House rules. No alcohol or smoking on the premises. Assured shorthold tenancy in flats. Licence agreement in rooms.

Visitors

Maximum of 2 per resident between 8.30am-11pm. Overnight guests with staff permission.
