Single homeless people with support needs. Priority given to those with a local connection.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

All referrals come via Wigan Council's Housing Support Access Point.

Referral procedure

Referrals via HSAP ( see www.wigan.gov.uk). Require proof of ID, eg birth certificate, driving licence, benefits letter etc. Need risk assessment from referring agency. 6 emergency access beds, 4 of which are 4 weeks stay maximum.

  • Minimum stay: 1 night
  • Maximum stay: 2 years

Support and accommodation

Support offered

5 full time staff cover weekly rota on-site during day, Manager available Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, plus overnight security/concierge. Keywork system (approx 11 residents per support worker), fortnightly-monthly meetings. Support plans with agreed outcomes, reviewed every 6 weeks. Staff provide support around benefits, budgeting, debt, alcohol and drug problems, mental and physical health, offending behaviour, employment, training and education. Liaison with other support agencies.

£11.34pw required from residents in receipt of benefits.

  • Disabled facilities: 1 room (plus kitchen and bathroom) accessible to wheelchair users.
  • Other facilities: 4 kitchens, 4 bathrooms, training room with computer and internet, lounge, garden.

Rules and policies

House rules and tenure

Must attend keywork meetings. Must attend training courses if in client support plan. No alcohol allowed in communal areas. Smoking allowed in own room and garden only. Licence agreement.

Visitors

Between 10am-8.30pm. No overnight guests.
