Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Male retired and active seafarers, ex-services personnel and single homeless men with low support needs. No local connection required.

Who we cannot help

Men with high support needs that the project cannot meet, although all applications are considered on a case by case basis.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept self referrals and referrals from any agency.

Referral procedure

Phone, visit 9.30am-8pm daily or write. Referral form. Risk assessment. Interview.

Support and accommodation

Support offered

Team of 4 welfare staff are available for advice every day between 9.30am-8pm, 2 night staff available 8pm-8am. No formal keywork system but staff meet with residents to provide advice and support around benefits, making appointments, move-on and organising regular activities, events and outings.

Rooms and charges

£20.00p/wk minimum required from residents in receipt of benefits. Service Charge is determined by Tower Hamlets according to housing benefit entitlement so may be higher.

House rules and tenure

No alcohol allowed on the premises. Smoking allowed in own room and garden. Licence agreement.

Visitors

Visitors allowed in communal areas 10am-10pm. No overnight guests.

Volunteering

Currently have 3 live-in volunteers on an annual basis, help with resident activities and events. Would be happy to receive corporate volunteer scheme and individual help with befriending, skills sharing, gardening etc. Phone 020 7987 5466 for further information.
