Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Single people aged 21-65 who are homeless or living in inappropriate or insecure accommodation, and those with mental health issues or learning disabilities. Priority to those with a local connection to LB Hackney.

Who we cannot help

People who pose an unacceptable risk to themselves or to others because of violence, fire raising, violent or coercive sexual behaviour or exploitative behaviour.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Priority to LB Hackney based agencies. Do not accept self referrals.

Referral procedure

Contact allocations worker or website to check for vacancies. Hackney referrals accepted directly for those with mental health issues and learning disabilities. Homeless and rough sleeper referrals via Hackney Single Homeless & Rough Sleeper Housing Panel. Assessment and possible interview.

Length of stay

  • Minimum stay: 6 months
  • Maximum stay: 2 years

Support and accommodation

Support offered

Housing support workers available at off-site offices in Hackney Mon-Fri 9.30am-5.30pm, emergency on-call system. Action plans with agreed outcomes. Offer individual support to help tenants succeed in independent living. Assist with budgeting, benefits, training and employment, practical skills, access to other services. Support, training and employment workers help tenants plan for their future. Run various NVQs.

Rooms and charges

£15.31pw (shared flat), £29.40pw (shared flat) required from residents in receipt of benefits.

  • Furnishings: Large white goods. Shared flats have crockery, cutlery and kettles.

  • Disabled facilities: 2 bedspaces accessible to wheelchair users. Aids and adaptations can be provided as appropriate.

No restrictions. Can stay overnight by agreement.
