Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Young single homeless or vulnerably housed people aged 16-21 including teenage parents. Accept couples with individual support needs. May accommodate non-dependent partners in dispersed accommodation. No local connection required. Pets not allowed.

Who we cannot help

"We may be unable to meet the needs of people with a history of serious violence, arson or sexual offences. Also people with long term or problematic drug use."

Referral agencies

All referrals via Family Support via A1 request and assessment form completed with through Family Supports- New Roots. Direct to New Roots for floating support

Referral procedure

Interviews arranged through New Roots or via Targeted Support.

  • Maximum stay: 2 years

Support and accommodation

Support offered

2 full time, 1 part time staff available 24/7. Keywork system with regular meetings. Staff provide help and advice with independent living skills and accessing employment, education or training. High level of daily support. Support workers visit residents once or twice a week, sometimes daily, in dispersed or shared units.

Rooms and charges

£10.00pw required from residents in receipt of benefits. Tenant's pay own bills in dispersed properties.

Rules and policies

House rules and tenure

Must participate in programme of support. No alcohol allowed on the premises for under 18s. Smoking only allowed in garden. Assured shorthold tenancy in dispersed and licenced in shared accommodation. No smoking rules apply.

Visitors

Maximum 2 visitors per person on shared scheme, until 11pm. Overnight guests with permission.
