Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Single homeless people aged 16 -25 with support needs. Local connection and be able to evidence this.

Who we cannot help

High risk applicants are unlikely to be accepted, but each applicant is considered on a case by case basis.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept referrals from any agency.

Referral procedure

Phone Mon-Fri 9am-5pm or write. The office telephone is not always manned but please leave a voicemail and someone will return your call. Application form completed by prospective resident and agency prior to interview. Require proof of ID and background reports from other agencies working with the applicant.

Length of stay

  • Minimum stay: 1 year
  • Maximum stay: 2 years

Support and accommodation

Support offered

6 full time Project Workers supported by 2 Senior Project Workers spilt between 2 off-site offices. Working hours Monday ? Friday, 9am ? 5pm with an out of hours emergency on-call system. Staff make weekly telephone contact and have fortnightly formal support meetings with Service Users. On going Action Plans implemented with agreed outcomes and reviewed during support meetings. Quarterly reviews completed with other agencies involved with the tenants support. Advice and support given around independent living skills and managing a licence/tenancy. Signposting to specialist agencies and counselling services.

  • Furnishings: Shared properties fully furnished, studios and flats partly furnished.

  • Disabled facilities: No current adaptions for wheelchair users, however Nacro will endeavour to facilitate all people with disabilities, where practical.
  • Other facilities: Garden at some properties.

House rules and tenure

Shared properties - smoking in own rooms and garden only. Licence agreement in shared properties. Assured shorthold tenancy in studios and flats.

Visitors

Occasional overnight stays in flats with permission. A visitors policy is in place.
