Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

All adult homeless households who have presented as homeless to Manchester City Council with low-medium support needs. Can accept mixed and same sex couples, groups, and those with multiple needs. Manchester connection preferred.

Who we cannot help

No automatic exclusions.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Can only accept referrals from the Manchester City Council homeless assessment team and other Manchester City Council run temporary accommodation units.

Referral procedure

Phone daily 24 hours or write. Application forms completed by referral agency. Assessment required. Additional information welcomed. Require proof of ID, National Insurance number and income.

Length of stay

  • Minimum stay: 1 night
  • Maximum stay: 2 years

Support and accommodation

Support offered

14 full time staff, 24 hour waking cover. Keywork system (average 6 residents per worker), meetings at least monthly. Support plans with agreed outcomes drawn up by support worker, resident and other involved agencies. Initial plan written within 1 week of moving in and reviewed at least once a month. Staff offer "housing-related support with holistic support planning."

£7.56-12.32pw required from residents in receipt of benefits.

  • Other facilities: Launderette, garden.

Rules and policies

House rules and tenure

Compulsory exit planning. Smoking allowed in own room only. Written house rules. Non-secure tenancy.

Visitors

Must be accompanied by resident. Overnight guests allowed 3 times a week. All visitors must provide ID on their first visit.
