Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Single homeless people aged over 25 with histories of rough sleeping and complex needs who have a City of Westminster connection of 6 months or more, including those with support needs around mental and physical health care. Must be CHAIN verified.

Who we cannot help

Any outside target group. Those currently using class A or B drugs.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept referrals from agencies that are part of Westminster Building Based Services.

Referral procedure

BBS teams will refer using the BBS team referral form. Westminster providers will use the sideways move referral form. BBS risk assessment also required. These need to be sent to hopkinsonreferrals@lookahead.org.uk an assessment will be arranged at a location suitable for the person. The person is accompanied by the referring agency.

Length of stay

  • Minimum stay: 3 months
  • Maximum stay: 2 years

Support and accommodation

Support offered

14 staff, 24 hour cover. Keywork and support system (5 residents per key worker). Support plans with agreed outcomes, reviewed at least every three months. Physical health support, access to detox via treatment services and support around harm reduction. Advice and support around independent living skills. More intense support in flats to prepare residents for living independently. Turning Point - twice weekly visits from drug and alcohol worker to offer support around addiction and access to detox/rehab. Workspace ? Fortnightly visit to the hostel to provide employment training and education support & advice.

£36.36pw (room), £6.11pw (flat) required from residents in receipt of benefits.

Alcohol allowed in own room and TV lounge only. Smoking allowed in own room and garden. Licence agreement.


Between 12.30pm-2.30pm and 5pm-6pm. No overnight guests.
