Who do we help?

Single homeless people, including rough sleepers. Kingston connection only

Who we cannot help

A risk assessment will always be carried out in terms of the appropriateness of the accommodation we may be able to offer and a multi-agency approach will be taken for any needs that are considered high

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Mainly accepts Kingston agency referrals only; our drop-in advice service is for people with a local connection - attendance/enquiries to this is more wide ranging.

Referral procedure

Call in at KCAH Mon-Fri 10.30am-1pm to meet with an Advice Support Worker. At present, we still run a drop-in advice surgery. If homeless on the day, KCAH will look to source an accommodation option. Kingston connection only. Some of our own accommodation provision is more restricted and referrals are made through a local multi-agency panel.

Support and accommodation

Support offered

The Joel Centre (already described) is for up to 7 residents - supported by two Enhanced Recovery Practitioners and with additional help from five Recovery Practitioners who also cover out of hours cover. There is always one waking staff member available. The Joel Centre provides key-work sessions within a structured day programme with strength-based activities. KCAH provides advice and support on benefits and housing and links in with the local treatment service to provide wraparound support.
