How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept self referrals and referrals from any agency via the Birmingham Gateway, Birmingham's Single Access point to Supported housing for Vulnerable People. Can also accept referrals at Stephen Springer House (tel 0121 356 4476).

Referral procedure

Phone the Gateway Mon-Thurs 8.45am-5.15pm, Mon-Fri 8.45-4.15pm who will assess whether referral into supported housing is appropriate and if so identify whether there is an appropriate vacancy in this or in other projects in Birmingham.

Support and accommodation


Support offered

5 full time staff provide 24 hour waking cover in hostel, visiting support in satellite schemes. Keywork system (4 residents per worker), with monthly meetings. Advice and support with life skills, budgeting, shopping, cooking, employment and training.
