Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Young individuals seeking accommodation aged 16-24.

Who we cannot help

We take into account a person's history and potential risks on a individual basis. If an individual is currently high risk or does not have appropriate management strategies in place to manage risk, we may not be able to place them.

  • Maximum age accepted: 24

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

We accept referrals from a number of agencies including Herts Young Homeless, local councils, schools, colleges, homeless organisations and mental health services.

Referral procedure

Referral hours: Monday - Friday 9:00 - 16:00. We accept self-referrals and referrals from external organisations. If a referral is from a partner organisation a referral form is required as well as background information about the service user.

  • Minimum stay: 1 Night
  • Maximum stay: ? 1 Month

Support and accommodation

Support offered

Whilst a service is staying with Nightstop, we work closely with partner organisations and local councils to help provide longer-term stable accommodation. We will also sign-post to appropriate organisations to help with additional support needs.

  • Disabled facilities: Some volunteers home may have disability access, however this tends to be limited due to front doors having steps or bedrooms being upstairs.

Public transport

May provide travel warrants/bus vouchers for clients with no income.

Volunteering

People can volunteer to become Nightstop hosts or volunteer drivers for the service. Nightstop hosts will need a private spare room in their home for a young person to stay. Volunteer drivers will need their own car with current license, insurance and MOT. Expenses are covered by Nightstop.

Donations

Currently we can't take physical donations due to working remotely. Money donations can be made via https://donate.uk.depaulcharity.org
