Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

People with drug and/or alcohol problems, including those with a dual diagnosis and those who have experienced sexual abuse. Must be drug and alcohol free on admission. No local connection required.

Who we cannot help

Those still using alcohol or drugs. Those who need regular nursing care. Sex offenders and arsonists.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept self referrals and referrals from any agency. Most referrals come from care management teams. May require social, psychiatric or probation reports. Self referrals need to organise placement funding. Can accept referrals direct from prison.

Referral procedure

Phone Mon-Fri 9am-5pm to give brief details so can assess suitability. If suitable, interview will be arranged either at Trelawn, in detox or in prison depending on need. Prefer applicants to have placement funding arranged.

Length of stay

  • Minimum stay: 3 months
  • Maximum stay: 6 months

Support and accommodation

Support offered

5 staff, sleep-in cover. Keyworker system, weekly meetings. Individual care plans with agreed outcomes, reviewed every 4-6 weeks. 4-month programme offers health education, complementary therapy, sessions on managing feelings including anger, independent living skills, personal development, relapse management. Specialist group for survivors of sexual abuse.

Rooms and charges

Usually £48pw from 24+ residents and £30.55 for under 24 in receipt of benefits. Financial assessment will be carried out to determine the amount.

Rules and policies

House rules and tenure

Must attend programme groups and keywork sessions. No alcohol or drugs on or off the premises. Relapse policy. No smoking allowed on premises. Licence agreement.

Visitors

During set times and in allocated area. No overnight guests.
