Who do we help?

Single homeless men, including those with substance and mental health concerns. Priority given to those with a local connection.

Who we cannot help

Anyone with a recent conviction for arson.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept referrals from any agency. Accept referrals direct from prison.

Referral procedure

Referrals accepted 24/7, however will only admit between the hours of 8am and 8pm. Complete a Durham County Council Housing Solutions referral form and send it to:

Length of stay

  • Minimum stay: 2 weeks
  • Maximum stay: 2 years

Support and accommodation

Support offered

1 Senior Support Worker 7 support workers 4 assistant support workers (nights) 24 hour waking cover Staff provide person centred support to help residents with money management, positive health, wellbeing and engagement. Working in partnership with local agencies and services, staff promote activities, engagement with substance misuse and mental health services and residents have access to an Asset Coach.

£16.81- £30.64 per week required from residents in receipt of benefits

Volunteers can support the project: painting and decorating, admin, support work, resettlement work, maintenance, catering, reception, activities & gardening, light maintenance and in the kitchen Staff & volunteers support residents with CV and job applications. Contact 0191 237 8891 for info.
