Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Young single homeless people, aged 16-25 with support needs or at risk. Local connection required.

Who we cannot help

We do not have blanket exclusions and all referrals are considered on an individual basis. Young people who have high risks to themselves or others which risks cannot be managed by us or other agencies may not be accepted.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept self referrals and referrals from any agency.

Referral procedure

Phone Mon-Fri 9am-5pm for guidance on how to refer. All referrals need to complete and submit a Supporting People Gateway referral form. Applicants will go through an assessment process before a decision is made to whether they meet the criteria for the service. Applicants are housed on a priority need basis.

  • Minimum stay: 3 months

Support and accommodation

Support offered

Concierge provides night cover. Youth Mentors work on a one to one basis with young people to develop support plans and work towards achieving their goals. Staff support with developing independent living skills, budgeting skills, life skills, being involved in local decision making and the wider community. Agencies provide services too including; numerous Training agencies, CAB, Top Church, Accord, Just Straight Talk, YMCA and Stonewater.

Rules and policies

House rules and tenure

Licence agreement. Young people must engage with their Youth Mentor and work with them throughout their time at On Route. We are Foyer Federation accredited and as part of this agreement, young people are expected to engage with training, education or employment or volunteering.


Visitors are allowed. Overnight guests are allowed for a maximum of 3 nights per week. I.D is required to be shown for all visitors and overnight guests.
