Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Young single homeless people aged 16-23 with low support needs. Priority given to those with a connection to Brentwood and the county of Essex.

Who we cannot help

People with high level mental health needs and suicide ideation. People with high level alcohol and drug problems and those with a history of arson.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept self referrals and referrals from any agency.

Referral procedure

Phone Mon-Fri 8.30am-8pm. Application form completed by referral agency and prospective resident prior to interview. Require proof of ID and 2 references. Additional information, e.g. YOT/probation reports, may also be required.

Length of stay

  • Minimum stay: 6 months
  • Maximum stay: 2 years

Support and accommodation

Support offered

5 full time and 1 part time staff available 8.30am-8pm, night security worker 6pm-6am. Keywork system (10 residents per worker), meetings at least weekly. Support plans with agreed outcomes, reviewed at keywork meetings and involving other agencies where possible. Support with training, education and employment, finances, living skills including weekly cooking sessions, and signposting to other agencies e.g. for counselling.

£3.98pw required from residents in receipt of benefits. Must pay for own TV licence

House rules and tenure

Must engage with support. Alcohol (not 16-17 year olds) in own room and kitchens only. Smoking in own room and garden only. House rules. Licence agreement.


8.30am-11.30pm Sun-Thurs, 8.30am-1am Fri, Sat. Overnight guests with staff permission.
