Who is the project for?
Who do we help?
Single people over the age of 18 years, who are experiencing or at high risk of homelessness. Low /medium support. Not a 24 hour service. Will accept those with drug or alcohol issues. Mental health issues. Domestic abuse victims. Those with a current or past criminal conviction with the exception of violence. We operate a floating support service for families and others in the community at risk of homeless. Who we cannot help
People who pose a serious risk to others. Arsonists will be assessed

How to get a referral
All referrals will come through the North Devon Hub.
Referrals are all assessed at Northern Devon Hub, then passed to the appropriate accommodation provider. The referral will be put on a waiting list.A time is arranged for the prospective service user to visit the accommodation and have an interview with two staff members where they will be assessed for suitability.

- Minimum stay: 1 week
- Maximum stay: 9 months
Support and accommodation
1 full time Service Manager, 4 part time Housing Support Workers, 1 part time Floating Support Worker. Service provided 9-5 Mon - Fri with emergency on call system out of hours. Each housing support worker operates a. key worker system, with once a week keywork meetings. Once every 3 months a needs assessment & individual support plan is completed and then reviewed weekly. Staff offer comprehensive support to enable a service user to move on into independent accommodation. Staff signpost to other agencies for specialist support with drug, alcohol, or mental health issues. Staff refer to GP surgeries for health related issues. Operates as a Places of Change hostel.

Rules and policies
House rules and tenure
Licence agreement. No smoking on premises. Drug and alcohol are not permitted in the accommodation. No pets accepted. No anti-social behaviour or violence. Attend key working and house meetings.
No visitors unless agreed by housing support worker / service manager.
The bus stop is half a mile away on Bideford Quay. The nearest train station is in Barnstaple( 10 miles).
There are 3 volunteering roles at Bideford supported housing. Housing support, activity support and admin support. A volunteer can choose to do one area, or can cover all three roles with their time. Contact Alabare on 01722 322 882 for further information.
We accept all types of donations. Monetary donations will be directed to the most needed items by the Service Manager New single bedding; Duvets, pillows, mattress protectors, duvet covers are always required. Non-perishable food. Contact email@example.com or call 01237 474 064 for info.
