Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Single homeless people who are eligible for housing benefit. Local connection will be prioritised.

Who we cannot help

Those not eligible for housing benefit. Otherwise no automatic exclusions, will consider all applicants and carry out a risk assessment at interview.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept self referrals and referrals from any agency. May require background information for Probation Service, Social Services and health service referrals.

Referral procedure

All referrals are made by completing a SCS referral form which can be found on the access community trust website under Housing/Fife centre tab for agencies and people wishing to refer out of area. Local referrals can be made at the Marina Centre in Lowestoft, (council office) or Bridgeview. Referrals can be made at the Fife Centre prior to booking an appointment. Initial assessments and risk assessments will then be carried out to assess need and suitability.

Length of stay

  • Minimum stay: 4 weeks
  • Maximum stay: 2 years

Support and accommodation

Support offered

6 full time, 6 part time staff, 24 hour waking cover. Staff offer advice and support according to individual need, including referrals to drug and alcohol counselling and help with accessing health care services. Resettlement worker offers advice and support around living skills and accessing training.

£25.00pw required from residents in receipt of benefits.

  • Furnishings: Rooms fully furnished, with washbasins.
  • Disabled facilities: 3 spaces are accessible to wheelchair users. Adapted shower and toilet.

House rules and tenure

Residents are expected to cooperate with resettlement process. Smoking allowed in own room and outdoor area only. Licence agreement.

Visitors

Not in bedrooms and must leave by 11pm. No overnight guests.
