Domestic Abuse Move On Project (Trafford Domestic Abuse Services)

Trafford Domestic Abuse Service (TDAS) is one of twenty nine charities from across England, working with women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, that has been awarded a grant from Homeless Link’s Ending Women’s Homelessness grants programme, funded by the Government’s Tampon Tax Fund.

TDAS will provide a trauma informed, Move on Domestic Abuse Service, providing expert advice for women in refuge, temporary and supported accommodation and support women who have resettled in the community to maintain their tenancies and stay safe, preventing them from becoming homeless.

Samantha Fisher, CEO of Trafford Domestic Abuse Service, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded this grant. We are seeing more and more women and children requiring support to prevent them becoming homeless and this funding will enable us to reach out to them sooner and offer the interventions that they need to break free from domestic abuse.

"The project will focus on providing gender and trauma informed support to women at risk of becoming homeless, those in generic temporary accommodation with no specialist support and educating housing professionals to prevent re-traumatisation of women when they are trying to escape domestic abuse."
