Bids open for Mayor of London’s Rough Sleeping Innovation Fund

Bids are now open for the third round of the Mayor of London’s Rough Sleeping Innovation Fund (RSIF).

The RSIF provides a major opportunity to develop new innovative and impactful initiatives in the city. It aims to increase the pace of progress, to tackle a wide range of issues and to complement, but not duplicate, existing commissioned services, with demonstrable outcomes.

The Mayor of London has set aside up to £1 million over four years for the RSIF. Bids for the third round opened on Friday 1 March. All projects in this round will last one year and grants of up to £50,000 are available.

Examples of projects previously supported by the fund include TAP London, which facilitates contactless donations by the public to homelessness charities, Stonewall’s project to provide safe night shelter accommodation and a daytime community centre to LGBTIQ+ people who are homeless and Housing Justice’s work to support community night shelters to implement a strengths-based approach to casework.

They also include Change Please (pictured), a social enterprise that delivers training and employment to people who are sleeping rough to become baristas, while also supporting them to access and sustain accommodation.
