Under One Roof 2016: a homelessness A to Z

Tuesday, 17 May 2016 - 11:50am

Our events manager Kate Alaway looks forward to the issues and opportunities on the agenda of our two day conference in July.

With summer just around the corner, my time is well and truly focused on Under One Roof, our annual conference, which takes place from 5-6 July this year.

I am hoping that the two days will offer you plenty of opportunities to learn, share and network with your peers, as we take a complete look at accommodation and support provision.

From covering new issues, to providing answers to reoccurring problems, I have tried to cover the A-Z of homelessness and offer you the chance to tailor the two days to meet your needs.

Take a sneak peak into what is on offer and what has gone on to get there!

Measuring and communicating the difference you make – we will show you how.

No First Night Out.

One Roof: this event will include speeches, workshops, masterclasses, debates, dinners and entertainment all Under One Roof.

Psychological trauma: learn from an expert in the field on how to work with those affected.

Question future thinking – feed your views into the future of homelessness provision.

Reflective practice and its role within supported housing.

S to X

Staff resilience – hear how to make your workplace a happy place to work to get the best from your staff.

Taking a strength based approach to service delivery. One organisation will talk through how they have transformed their service and the positive impact this is having.

Unwind - relax at the end of the day in the hotel’s complimentary leisure facilities including a fully equipped gym, sauna, spa and steam room!

View products and services in the exhibition. Each year we are trying to build up the exhibition at the event and feature more homelessness services to showcase what they are doing. Including homelessness services is a great way to broaden the overall good practice that the event covers allowing more ideas to be shared and copied. I am busy working on this at the minute. If you want to be a part of this please let me know.

Workshops – there are 24 breakout sessions on offer in total. It has taken some time to put the programme together and match what we offer with what issues are being talked about in the sector.

eXchange ideas, and build closer relationships with your peers (well what would you put for X?!).

Y to Z

You – each day can be tailored to meet your interests.

Zip file – you will receive all presentations after the event.

I hope that this gives you a taster of what the event is all about and what I will be doing for the next few weeks! I hope to see you there.
