Changes to the National Indicator Set

The final National Indicator Set handbook of definitions, released on 1st April 2008, reveals several major changes to the '198 list' of national indicators.

Removed


  • NI 31: Re-offending rate of registered sex offenders (due to difficulties in developing an effective measurement for progress)

New


  • NI 199: Children and young people's satisfaction with parks and play areas. (to be introduced in 2009/10)

Deferred


LSPs can include deferred targets in their LAA, however they will not come into force until 2009/10.


  • NI 12: HMO licence applications
  • NI 24: satisfaction with statutory dealings with Anti-social behaviour
  • NI 25: satisfaction of different groups perception of NI 24
  • NI 26: specialist support to victims of serious sexual offence
  • NI 32: repeat incidents of domestic violence
  • NI 38: class A drug offending rate
  • NI 54: CYP participation in high quality PE and sport
  • NI 71: children who have run away from home/care overnight
  • NI 127: self-reported experience of social care users
  • NI 128: user-reported measure of respect and dignity in treatment
  • NI 190: achievement in meeting standards in the control system for animal health
