Supporting the Development Needs of Vulnerable People
This briefing is about the "Certificate in Self-development through learning" for homeless and vulnerable people and the related "Certificate in Supporting the Development Needs of Vulnerable People".
The Homelessness Sector pilot
Both qualifications were part of a "Homelessness Sector Pilot" run by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) to address the diverse training needs of homeless people.
About the Learning Power award
The Certificate in Self-development through learning was developed by the LSC "to provide a framework in which centres can offer education and learning opportunities to people who are vulnerable and experiencing instability in their lives." Clients access individual programmes of learning and certification with enhanced one-to-one support and within a common framework that has been designed to enable them to achieve incremental success.
Certificate in Supporting the Development Needs of Vulnerable People

It is suitable for anyone who deals with vulnerable people on a day to day basis, including those working with individuals who are experiencing instability, perhaps through homelessness, substance misuse, or one of many other uncertain lifestyles.
