This section contains information about recent and forthcoming Homeless Link political events and campaigns.

Annual Conference

Our annual conference provides a cross-sector forum for decision makers, frontline workers, voluntary sector chief executives and senior management, staff working in local authorities, housing associations and PCT’s to come together to explore current homelessness issues.

The theme for the 2006 conference is “The Power to Change”. It will see the launch of Homeless Link’s campaign to End Homelessness and will be an opportunity to explore how this fits with other important developments for everyone involved with homelessness.

Political speakers who have confirmed their attendance include:

  • Yvette Cooper MP , Minister for Housing and Planning, will speak and take questions on current government homelessness strategy.
  • Karen Buck MP will participate in our panel session “Using local politics to help end homelessness”, sharing her insider knowledge on how organisations can maximise their political influence at local level.

Visit our Annual Conference 2006 page for more information and to book your place at the conference.

Manifesto to End Homelessness

Before the 2005 general election we published our Manifesto to End Homelessness .

This called on the next government to commit itself to eradicating homelessness within the next three terms of government, outlining key policy areas and practical steps that can be taken to do just that.

We are working hard to ensure this ambitious aim becomes a reality, launching the campaign to take this forward at our 2006 annual conference.

Visit our campaign site to sign up to end homelessness, find out more and track the campaign’s progress.
