The government launched a new agency to deliver regeneration and housing in a major shake-up of the way it supports the delivery of new homes and develops mixed, sustainable communities in England.
The government announced on 17 January proposals to merge the Housing Corporation and English Partnerships to form Communities England.
In a press statement Jenny Edwards said: "The excellent work begun by the Housing Corporation to address homelessness and the needs of vulnerable people must continue and grow. It is vital that the focus on achieving a merger does not blow this off course. It will be important for the messages to be reaffirmed loudly and strengthened over the coming months."
