Regional Seminars about the new rough sleeping strategy - January and February 2009

rough sleeping seminars.

On 18 November 2008 Communities and Local Government announced a commitment to ending rough sleeping ‘once and for all’ in the launch of the strategy No One Left Out – Communities Ending Rough Sleeping.

Meeting this commitment is a challenge in which we all share a role. These seminars are for lead officers in housing, homelessness and Supporting People, elected members, strategic partnership managers, partner agencies and third sector providers, who will all contribute to realising the ambitions of No One Left Out – Communities Ending Rough Sleeping.

What are the implications for homelessness and housing services, both local authority and voluntary? What good practice can we learn from, and what resources can we employ? To answer these questions, and many more, Homeless Link is hosting a series of free seminars on the new rough sleeping strategy, on behalf of Communities and Local Government, in January and February 2009.

What will be discussed?

At each seminar there will be a selection of presentations and discussions from Communities and Local Government about the national rough sleeping strategy, Homeless Link on the homelessness sector’s perspective, and a local provider.

There will be an opportunity for sub-regional discussion groups to look at how the strategy can be implemented to help tackle rough sleeping locally.

The seminars will run from 10.30 to 4.00 (except Yorkshire and Humber which runs from 9.30 to 3.00)

A full programme will be issued in due course.

When are the seminars?

There will be one seminar held in each English region. Dates locations and venues are as follows. Please note these seminars are free of charge.
