At the crossroads: the future of Supporting People

Supporting People is at a crossroads. The new ministers are considering the future of the programme. They are looking at how to build on what has been achieved while applying the principles of 'freedoms and flexibilities' for local authorities. In November 2005 the ODPM published an outline strategy for consultation with a view to finalising the way forward by the spring of next year. At the crossroads gave senior staff from homelessness organisations and local authorities a timely opportunity to feed directly into this discussion and to influence the future of the programme.

Five workshops run by Homeless Link experts and invited speakers provided a focused forum for discussing Outcomes, User Involvement, Focusing and integrating support and Administrating the programme.
