Social Enterprise Event, 15th November 2007

On Social Enterprise Day this year we held a seminar for homelessness organisations in the West Midlands and North West regions.

The aim of the event was to understand, view and discuss what is meant by social enterprise and how one could benefit homelessness organisations against the backdrop of current and future funding streams.

This seminar was a really good opportunity for projects to come together and hear about innovative and exciting social enterprises that other organisations in the sector like the YMCA in Birkenhead had set up.

During the seminar attendees had the chance to learn about setting up a social enterprise and experience a real social enterprise in action by having their lunch in the community café at Stoke on Trent YMCA

This event was a fantastic opportunity for homelessness agencies to be inspired by what other organisations have done and what they can achieve if they develop a social enterprise.
