London Mayoral Elections
Elections for the Mayor of London and London Assembly members will take place on 1 May 2008. Over the last year more powers have been given to the Mayor so it more important than ever for everyone in London to vote. One way to make sure the Mayor will consider homelessness issues is for people experiencing homelessness to be registered to vote. This page has information on the election and encouraging your service users to vote.

Who can vote
You must be registered to vote. The deadline to register to vote on 1 May is 16 April 2008
You can vote in the London Mayoral and Assembly elections if:
- you live in London
- you are over 18 on 1 May 2008
- you are a British citizen or an EU citizen or Commonwealth citizen
You do not need to have a permanent address to register to vote. More information
