Older Persons Housing Strategies

Is your local authority consulting on an older people housing strategy or carrying out a review of sheltered housing? Are the needs of older homeless people being considered?

If you know of a strategy currently being written the Coalition on Older Homelesness project at Homeless Link would like to hear about it. We are encouraging local authorities to consider the needs of the older homeless population in their older people's housing strategies. We are developing a methodology that can be used to audit the numbers and needs of older homeless people in a local authority area, which could be used to inform any needs analysis work being carried out.
