This section provides information about how Homeless Link works in the English regions, along with how we work with sister organisations in Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and further afield to bring about an end to homelessness.

Regional News

  • ALL AREAS: SEVERE WEATHER PROVISION FOR ROUGH SLEEPERS. Please make every effort to ensure no one is left outside without shelter if the weather becomes freezing this winter. Restrictions on who can use emergency accommodation should be lifted under these circumstances. Download the letter from CLG to Local Authorities here.
  • Homeless Link has been commissioned by Communities and Local Government (CLG) to support and administer a £450,000 grants scheme to help services working with homeless people provide positive activities. The Activating Places of Change grants are only available to services that have received funding under the CLG's Hostels Capital Improvement Programme (HCIP).
  • Rural homelessness project - New research project looking at the support needs of agencies working with homeless people in rural areas.

Places of Change development work

Most of Homeless Link's work in England is funded by the Department for Communities and Local Government as part of the Places of Change agenda. Our regional pages also contain information about events, training, resources and specific issues in your area.

Read "Places of change", an article in Connect about the work of Homeless Link's Regional Managers.

London

In the London region, Homeless Link also does other development work, funded by London Councils, formerly the ALG.
