Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Young single vulnerable homeless women, primarily aged 16-18 unless they are care leavers in full time education or have support funding from another agency such as mental health team then the age range is 16-21. Must have a local connection.

Who we cannot help

Those with a history of arson. Those with current drug or other substance misuse problems. Those who are persistently violent to others or themselves. Women who are pregnant.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept referrals from agencies including Community Housing Aid, Youth Enquiry Service (Young Devon), Careers Southwest, Exeter City Council, East Devon District Council, Children and Young People Service, Mental Health Teams and Youth Offending Service.

Referral procedure

Phone for further information Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. Referrer must complete Single Application Process form. These are presented fortnightly at the Homeless Prevention Panel in Exeter.

Length of stay

  • Minimum stay: 6 months
  • Maximum stay: 2 years

Support and accommodation

Support offered

5 full time staff, sleep-in cover. Support worker system, weekly meetings. Three way support plan drawn up between each resident, support worker and referral agency. Staff provide help with life skills, including help with budgeting, cooking, home management, finding education, training or meaningful occupation and developing social skills.

£7.90pw required from residents in receipt of benefits.

Rules and policies

House rules and tenure

Licence agreement. Must meet regularly with support worker. No smoking or alcohol in communal areas.

Visitors

Female: 9am-10.45pm, may stay overnight with permission. Male: 1 named male guest must leave by 8pm.
