Young and homeless 2018
Homeless young people are amongst the most vulnerable in society. Many are dealing with the lasting impact of abuse or neglect, family breakdown or poor mental health.
These young people need access to support, financial security and a safe, affordable place to live - yet without a home it becomes very difficult to flourish in other areas, including education, employment and staying healthy. Without the right support, they are at risk of developing complex problems and becoming homeless again in later life.
This event will look at the services, support and accommodation young people need when navigating their journeys as framed within the Positive Pathway Model:
- Early intervention responses targeted to reach households where young people are most likely to be at risk of homelessness
- Integrated responses to accommodation and support for young people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or need help with planned transitions to independence
- Accommodation and support options designed for younger and more vulnerable young people
- Safe, decent, affordable housing options
