Taking Housing First Forward
Housing First is an internationally recognised intervention, which has proven successful in supporting people with experience of repeat homelessness and multiple disadvantage into independent accommodation. Research has shown that individuals are more likely to remain housed and make progress in other aspects of their lives if they are given a stable home and intensive, open-ended support. This cost-effective approach is based around a set of core principles, which are designed to help people achieve optimum outcomes. Housing First is about doing things differently; it requires flexibility and creativity from everyone involved, from support providers and commissioners to housing suppliers.
Homeless Link is calling on service providers across the country to consider delivering Housing First to meet the requirements of their local communities.
In conjunction with our Housing First England project, we are hosting this event to disseminate the learning of what has worked in providing Housing First, what the challenges have been and how they have been overcome, and how to capture and utilise service impact to draw in funding and meet commissioning requirements. The content for the day will be streamed to be relevant to both those already offering a Housing First service and those looking to start one, and will include sessions for providers, commissioners and local partners.
The event will start at 10am, and will finish at 4.15pm. Please click here to view the programme in full.
