Course spotlights
Motivational interviewing
27/28 September 2007, London
“The course made me become more aware of my role as an interviewer and provided me with some tools for developing my role and increasing the positive effects of the service” – – Sebnem Oz, Ashiana Project
Motivational Interviewing was originally developed for the dependency field, and this course illustrates how the techniques can be used in a housing context. The course will equip you with the underlying principles, techniques and practices of MI, as well as showing how it can be applied in the workplace and how it functions alongside other therapies.
CBT: principles and practice
9/10 & 16/17 October 2007, London
"A good introduction to CBT. I now feel more confident about using CBT tools and techniques in my work with clients." - Gail Hall, Carr-Gomm
This course will examine the principles, formulation and basic skills involved in cognitive behavioural therapy, and the style in which it may be delivered. Upon completion, frontline workers should be able to use the principles and practice in their work, and management staff will be able to make decisions about how their service delivery can be adapted.
