Training questionnaire

Have your say!

Homeless Link would like your views on the way Skills for the job is run, and a clearer picture of your training needs. We have developed a training questionnaire to help us do this. We would be grateful to hear from you if you coordinate training for your agency or are a past delegate. However, even if you have no direct experience of Homeless Link training we would still very much appreciate your input. The deadline for responses is 31 May 2007.

Complete training questionnaire.

31 May 2007, London

21 June 2007, Leeds

Trainer: Iain Bourne

Fee: Homeless Link members £120, Statutory providers £170, Non-members £170 (no VAT to add)

Homeless Link is one of the few providers to offers this renowned course as part of an open programme, at reasonable rates. The training is unique and features shocking dramatisations of real life situations, and is aimed at workers in any field who may encounter threatening behaviour in the work place. It is different from other managing conflict courses, as it looks at how best to deal with cases where difficult behaviour has already reached crisis point.

Previous delegates have found the training invaluable, with comments including: Quite the best training I have ever had and was sadly put into use not long after. His advice rang in my ears at the time and was hugely helpful. Stunningly good."- Anne O'Marah, Chester Aid to the Homeless.

Mental capacity act: half day briefing

7 June 2007, London

Fee: Homeless Link members £70, Statutory providers £80, Non-members £90 (no VAT to add)

Trainer: Colin Dyson

The Mental Capacity Act has been introduced to ensure that, as far as possible, all adults can take decisions about their lives. It changes fundamentally how a range of decisions that are made, including how capacity and consent is assessed and how Powers of Attorney are arranged and administered, and other measures to tighten up the legal safeguards protecting vulnerable people.

The decision that someone lacks capacity can be taken by anyone who cares for an individual. Thus as a homelessness worker or manager this responsibility could come within your role, or you could be joint working with professionals who are impacted by the Mental Capacity Act. The briefing is for managers and staff involved in the assessment and planning of support, particularly those involved in drugs and mental health work.
