Qualifications at Homeless Link

Welcome to Homeless Link's qualification pages. After a succession of successful pilots we are pleased to now be able to offer NVQs to frontline workers in the homeless sector.
About NVQs
A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) is a work based accreditation scheme, which allows the skills developed in the workplace to be translated into a nationally recognised qualification. NVQs are made up of a number of individual units. Rather than placing emphasis on training, the NVQ is designed to reflect good practice in the workplace with candidates being assessed against an agreed national standard. Homeless Link is currently running 2 NVQ programmes:
- Bridge the Skills Gap project - Housing Level 2 (NVQ)
- STAR project - Homelessness Level 2 & 3 (NVQ & Award)
Resources & Information
We have compiled further resources including details of other NVQs and qualifications available to staff within the sector. Alongside this, we have also pulled together resources and information for current candidates and assessors working with Homeless Link, as well as useful helplines and websites for workers and a glossary of terms to aid your understanding of qualifications.
Research & Strategies
At Homeless Link we aim to keep you up to date with the latest research into the qualification needs of the sector and current strategies being implemented.
