The Places of Change Programme (PCP)
The second cycle of Communities and Local Government's Places of Change agenda is providing a £70 million capital investment to help make hostels and day centres into 'places of change' for their service users.

In November 2007 Communities and Local Government (CLG) announced the Places of Change programme, which will build on the success of its Hostels Capital Improvement Programme, extending funding to more hostels and day centres across the country. This investment will enable them to transform their environments and services in a way that will help their service users to gain the skills and confidence to move on with their lives.
CLG invited bids from local authorities in partnership with voluntary agencies. A good practice guide, the application guidance and form are available on the CLG website. The application deadline was 8 February 2008.
Changing Places
During November and December 2007, Homeless Link's regional managers ran a series of regional briefing sessions to offer guidance on what to consider for funding applications.
We have also produced an interactive DVD to help you on your journey to becoming a 'place of change'. It features some of the successes and learning from leading providers, many of whom were funded under the Hostels Capital Improvement Programme.
Copies were sent out with the Winter edition of Connect, but if you would like to order additional copies please contact your regional manager. You can also watch tasters of the Changing Places DVD online.
An overview of the Places of Change programme, including Frequently Asked Questions, and presentations from the London briefing sessions are also available.
